Marvel Cinematic Universe star Krysten Ritter reflects on reprising the role of Jessica Jones in Daredevil: Born Again season 2. One of the big surprises from 2025 was the announcement that Ritter's Jessica Jones will be in Daredevil: Born Again season 2, six years after her original Netflix series came to an end.

While plot details remain under wraps for next season, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 will release in 2026, and the team has been filming throughout 2025. Following the events of Daredevil: Born Again season 1, Jessica's role in season 2 has become one of the most highly anticipated aspects of the show.
In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant's own Liam Crowley for her new series, Dexter: Resurrection, Ritter was asked about coming back to the MCU after so many years for Daredevil: Born Again season 2. Ritter shared the following about getting to reprise the fan-favorite MCU heroine:
Krysten Ritter: It's very exciting. I am very thrilled to be back in Jessica's boots. There's more story for her and it's really exciting.
ScreenRant: How does the tone feel? Disney+ versus Netflix?
Krysten Ritter: Oh, it's gritty. It feels big too. The crew's amazing. I've had an amazing experience. I can't say anything, but I love being with Charlie [Cox]. It was as if no time had passed. Like, my first day, I was looking around like we're back. But juxtaposing it with Mia [her Dexter Resurrection character] and Jessica has been really creatively fulfilling for me as an artist and just what a big, big banner year I'm having. I think the fans are going to be very, very thrilled. We're doing some cool stuff.
Krysten Ritter Really Is Having A "Banner Year"
2025 is definitely an exciting year for Ritter, to say the least. Given the massive popularity of the original Dexter series, having any role in the sequel show with Michael C. Hall's titular player is a huge deal, and based on Ritter's comments, her character, Mia, is sounding like it is one of her favorite gigs of all time.
When it comes to the MCU chapter of her career, Ritter had been on the record many times before 2025 saying how much she wanted to return to the franchise as Jessica Jones, especially with fans making their voices heard about how much they missed seeing her character. That is what made the announcement of Ritter returning to the MCU timeline that much more satisfying.
While time will tell what the "cool stuff" is that she refers to, Daredevil: Born Again season 2 is bound to have some really intriguing stories that will compel fans of the Marvel Netflix shows. Whether other Marvel Netflix heroes like Luke Cage and Iron Fist will join Matt Murdock and Jessica Jones remains to be seen.
Our Take On Jessica Jones' Return
From what Ritter was able to share with ScreenRant about her Daredevil: Born Again season 2 return, it makes the wait for the next season feel like an eternity, but it is definitely worth it. While fans have gotten a first glimpse of Jessica Jones through Daredevil: Born Again set videos, it remains to be seen how much Ritter will be in the new season.
