KPop Demon Hunters Is Dominating The Charts And The Perfect Replacement Album Was Just Released

The success of Netflix's latest number-one movie, KPop Demon Hunters, serves as a testament to audiences' appreciation of good music and great animation. The movie's fictional K-Pop groups will likely be the jumping off point for many beginner K-Pop fans, whether they're looking for a powerful girl group or a charming boy group.

Either way, the first K-Pop group that viewers will come across, if they keep the credits rolling, is TWICE. Their song "Strategy" was featured in the movie's soundtrack, but three members also recorded their own version of HUNTR/X's "TAKEDOWN." The song's recording sessions are shown just after the first set of credits.

When it comes to getting into one of the most overwhelming genres of music, TWICE is a fantastic place to start. The nine-member girl group celebrates their 10th anniversary in October. Since 2015, they've been a staple in the industry, proving to fans that they're nowhere near done with what they set out to do.

Below is an initial ranking of their latest album, THIS IS FOR, including five unique unit tracks and fully-English tracks.

14PEACH GELATO

Track 6 - 2:18

On an album filled with catchy tracks, "PEACH GELATO" is the perfect background music for your next summer fling. The heat might make any sweet treat melt as soon as you leave the shop, but this track will keep you refreshed enough to forget any stress you might feel.

My main critique of this song, and most of the remaining tracks, is its length. If it'd been just a little bit longer, it could've incorporated a bridge to switch things up or add another layer that would've made it stand out among the rest.

13BATTITUDE (NAYEON, JEONGYEON, MOMO, MINA)

Track 8 - 2:27

THIS IS FOR is an album full of confidence. Many of the unit tracks touch on similar attitudes, with "BATTITUDE" leading the charge. This track's unapologetic frame of mind risks being seen as corny by many artists, but feels deserved in TWICE's case.

They're celebrating their decade-long career this year, so why shouldn't they get the chance to brag about their success and the carefree attitude they adopt when they don't feel like giving in to their haters and the negative press every celebrity receives?

12G.O.A.T (MINA, DAHYUN, CHAEYOUNG)

Track 11 - 2:25

Like "BATTITUDE," this unit track also focuses on the group's confidence. This time, they claim their place as the "G.O.A.T." of K-Pop. As their reign continues, this anthem serves as a reminder to everyone who doubted their rise to fame. TWICE is one of the biggest girl groups in the world, and they waste no time letting everyone know why.

11DAT AHH DAT OOH (SANA, JIHYO, DAHYUN, CHAEYOUNG, TZUYU)

Track 9 - 2:28

By the time listeners make it through these three unit tracks, they start to blend together a bit. With such similar themes of confidence, I can't help but feel like elements from each of them could've been blended into one complete song featuring the full group.
